Saving black lives during a pandemic

BWOP Chicago has coordinated a policy campaign designed to address the disproportionate impact the COVID-19 crisis has had on black folks across the state of Illinois. To zoom in specifically on Chicago, it is eerie to observe that one can superimpose maps of COVID-19 cases by zip code on top of historically redlined majority-ADOS (American Descendants of Slavery) communities.

Please sign our petition and join us in our weekly action items. On Wednesdays, we reach out to city-level officials to advocate on behalf of black folks in the City of Chicago. On Thursdays, we reach out to state-level officials to advocate on behalf of black folks throughout the state of Illinois.
